Review

Located inside the Ames Hotel, just steps away from the historic Old State House, the Woodward is a two-story modern-day tavern with a sophisticated vibe. Sleek lines, dark woods, and metallic and white accents dominate the space, while funky historical artifacts attract bar-goers' attention and give a nod to Boston's past. The downstairs lounge features a long bar and seating for customers grabbing dinner. Upstairs at the Woodward, customers can enjoy a second bar with open space, tons of seating, a fireplace and room for dancing. The dance floor is driven by the beats of the town's best DJs and offers impressive views of the Financial District.

The upscale and stylish ambiance is enhanced by the great service and expertly-prepared cocktails. Nightly Wingman recommends trying the Boston Mule (Absolut Wild Tea with ginger beer and spearmint) or Polished Passion (Belvedere vodka with passion fruit puree and cinnamon-chili infused honey) for the fruity drink-inclined. Though a night at the Woodward can be slightly expensive, with cocktails ranging in price from $10-14 and beers $6 and up, the atmosphere and prime location make it a must-see for young Bostonians.
